ABOUT THE DESIGNER

Art and identity are at the core of Austin Morrow's design philosophy. As recent graduate from the Fashion Institute of Technology and the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Austin has spent the past four years developing a love for storytelling through both art and design. Their belief is that fashion that is only inspired by other fashion is doomed to do nothing but repeat the cycles of old designs. As a result, many designs feature motifs or illustrations that are in some part essential to the conceptual nature of their designs. These concepts are often derived from social issues or tell a personal story.
During their time as a student, the designer has received recognition for their work. They showed work in an art and design showcase in the Ruth Davis Design Gallery. They have participated in several collaborative juried shows, including the Threads fashion show and MODA Magazine's annual show. This show even earned them the Showstopper award, an accolade rewarded to the collection that showed the most innovation and forward-thinking design. In conjuncture with those shows, they also had a full editorial spread featured in the April 2019 issue of MODA Magazine.
